Plenary Session II: #SaveOurCities: Voting Rights, Criminal Justice and Police Accountability

Thursday, July 30
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center
Hall D

In the 50th anniversary year of the Voting Rights Act, the fundamental right to vote is still being denied to some Americans through voter suppression tactics both direct and indirect. Political representation or lack thereof has become an even bigger issue in the wake of police misconduct cases with legal, political, social and economic ramifications. Esteemed panelists will discuss the measures required to end historic disenfranchisement and what it will take to put them in place.
